You may have never heard of this but there is a GIANT coffee bean out there called Pacamara. It is an Arabica varietal coffee strain that is very special. 

What makes it so special? Well, it is the largest sized coffee bean IN THE WORLD and is also super rare. To me, personally, it’s the most unique tasting cup of coffee I have ever had. 

Pacamara is a hybrid between the Bourbon mutation Pacas and Maragogype (two different strains of Arabica coffee beans). It was bred in El Salvador in 1958 to achieve an Arabica variety that produces larger beans. However, it never became popular due to its increased cost and lower production yields.

Pacamara is the largest sized coffee bean in the world. Furthermore this specific Pacamara is individually hand selected by us to obtain the largest coffee bean size possible (20-21) and only perfect whole beans. 

It comes from the highest and most lush mountains in Nicaragua. The coffee is grown specifically in the mountains of Dipilto & Jalapa, which surrounds the San Juan de Rio Coco River, the largest and most bio-diverse river ecosystem in Nicaragua. 

These are the most fertile lands in Nicaragua and border Nicaragua and Honduras. 

It is grown at an altitude between 1,300-1,750 meters or 4,265 – 5,750 ft above sea level.

Pacamara is a sweet but strong coffee that can be both complex and intense in flavor and aroma. When it is roasted to a medium level, it has notes of chocolate. Though very subtle, it complements its sometimes creamy texture.

When it is a Light Roast, you will have a nuttier and slightly more acidic cup of coffee. It begins to release flowery tones that become more pronounced as the cup cools down. 

This is the most sought after coffee in Nicaragua and many parts of the world. Its production is very limited to only a few thousands of pounds in the entire country!
